Tobius's Past Life

Before Tobius was in our hands, he lived a life full of adventure with his previous family. We were so honored to give Tobius a revamp and a second lease on life. We asked the family to write a brief descriptiption of what this bus meant to them. We hope that whoever buys Tobius will share the same love they had for him.

A note from the family:

"Kachwa is what we called the bus. From the Urdu language. Kachwa means tortoise. We chose this because the bus has allowed us to travel, slowly and with intention across the US with our home on our back. She has provided us with a safe place to rest our heads while allowing us the freedom to explore the country.

We found Kachwa in a forgotten lot in a small county in North Carolina, near the Atlantic Ocean. She was an impulse buy and was intended to be practice for living aboard a sail boat in the future. One of the most rewarding benefits of living in a school bus was being enticed to partake in community spaces. Heading to the gym became a necessary routine as did going to the library, a good coffee shop, a friend's house and more.

Overall, Kachwa has given us numerous opportunities for growth and new/old experiences. We believe that life is about the journey, experiences and people. Having a daughter along for the ride also pushes us to expose her to new things and people. The friends and family who have been alongside us are integral parts of the whole experience and have made it all possible. We hope that Kachwa will continue to carry things along someone else's journey."
